Temple Shir Shalom is committed to empowering our families to live Jewish lives with a strong moral conscience. We want our students to develop a relationship with God through reverence for all that is holy and participation in Tikkun Olam (repairing our world), Tzedekah (charity) and G’milut Hasadim (acts of loving kindness). Accordingly, we are committed to teaching each generation to share the joy of our heritage by providing the opportunity to learn Jewish history, language and traditions.
Temple Shir Shalom and Temple Israel have joined together to create a collaborative religious school for the children of both congregations, Meitin Alliance for Growth and Learning, MAGAL, the Hebrew word for circle and a symbol of oneness.
All Classes are held at Temple Israel, 50 Moss Road in Winter Springs.
Classes are Sundays 9:00am-12:30pm for all children in grades K-7. Grades 3-7 also attend classes on Wednesdays from 5pm-6:30pm (optional for TSS students). Wednesday classes feature enrichment material that compliments the Sunday curriculum and includes additional Hebrew instruction.More information can be found in our MAGAL Handbook.
Please complete the MAGAL Registration Form (including the release page) for each child and return it to our Treasurer at your earliest convenience. Questions about religious school can be directed to Cantor Kim Singer, Jaime Dunnick, or Jennifer Nielsen.

Education is a lifelong process at Temple Shir Shalom. We have members from many different Jewish (or non-Jewish) backgrounds who want to know more about all aspects of Judaism. Our interactive Tuesday night classes with Cantor Kim cover a wide variety of topics, including insights into the core beliefs of Judaism, instruction on how to adhere to Jewish practices in the home, and more.
