Another year is coming to a close and we will soon be celebrating the start of the yaer 5772! This year’s High Holidays Services will again be held at First United Methodist Church of Oviedo (FUMCO; map), with its comfortable seating and improved sound acoustics for a wonderful worship experience. Our Spiritual Leader Beth Schafer, along with our Temple Choir, will lead us in worship for a spiritually filled High Holiday experience. Evening services will be more adult-oriented and the morning services more family-oriented. There will be a children’s break room available. Supervised Child Care will be made available however a parent or guardian must be present at the service and available at all times if needed.
Our Mitzvah Committee is having a funds drive to support Jewish Family Services and the Pearlman Food Pantry. We ask that each family or member consider a donation to JFS to help those less fortunate. Tzedakah is always a cornerstone of our faith as well as a wonderful lesson for our children.
Following the Havdalah Service on Yom Kippur, we will have our Community Break Fast. Last year, we had over 140 people Break Fast together on a wonderful dairy meal, to end our High Holidays. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Mary Moskowitz at mmoskowitz2002@yahoo.com or call 407-271-7348 by September 20th.

Yizkor Book of Rememberance
With the coming of the High Holy Days, Temple Shir Shalom is offering everyone the opportunity to memorialize loved ones in our Yizkor Book of Remembrance. It will include the inscription of your loved one's name.
In the Jewish tradition, it is customary to remember our deceased family and friends through the simple act of declaring their names and by the saying of Yizkor. They, of blessed memory, continue to be a part of our lives.
This Book is an added way to memorialize loved ones, and will be distributed at the Yizkor Memorial Service on Yom Kippur afternoon.
If you would like to have a deceased family member or friend included in this year's book, please fill out the Book of Rememberance form and return it by September 23, 2011.
