Beit Hamidrash is the interdenominational Hebrew High School for Orlando-area teens. It is open to any teen in 8th-12th grades regardless of synagogue affiliation. Held at the Hebrew Day School in Maitland on Monday nights from 7-9 pm. This year's Monday night program begins on October 5th. Teens select interesting classes and activities to enhance their Jewish identity and get to socialize with other Jewish teens.

The 2009-2010 year is going to be bigger, better, and more exciting than ever. If you have been coming...keep on coming. If you stopped coming...come back. If you've never come before...don't miss out. Last year there were 200 teens involved...let's hit 250 this year! IT'S A MITZVAH. Some of the things to look out for this year are:

1) Trimesters - more classes (no elective repeats), more scheduling options (take your fundamentals in the first trimester and then electives for the rest of the year), and more variety.
2) BH Chugim - brand new 1x/month Sunday option for 10th-12th grade teens (no classrooms, no weekday commitment, and no worries about Monday night conflicts)
3) Kaplan SAT @ BH - SAT prep with Jewish content and Jewish teens...dates and registration launching soon
4) Themed monthly dinners & activities...not just pizza, we're doing it right this time
5) Chill-Zone (formerly known as break-time) programming - speakers, discussions, games, music, basketball, and more.
6) School-wide programming - Honest Reporting (http://www.honestreporting.com/) and Vanessa Van Petten (http://www.radicalparenting.com/)
7) Earn community service hours by improving Beit Hamidrash (writing articles, taking video, planning programs, working on the website, and more)
8) DC Leadership trip for 10th & 11th grade teens...AND SO MUCH MORE...
